Thanks! This problem exists already for three releases, and nothing is done to it! I had loads of problems on my previous computer with an Nvidia card, so when I bought a new Dell I insisted on an expensive ATI card. Result: these problems. I really am a Linux fan, but this issue disappoints me deeply, esp. the way it was treated till now! Maybe it has something to do with the AMD 64 bits architecture. The whole world convinced my that this architecture was much better, so now a lot of software I can't install, because it is the wrong architecture!
