A kind fellow form Brazil by the name Jonh Wendell seems to have found a workaround for the display update problem: http://www.bani.com.br/lang/en/2009/05/remote-access-and-3d-effectsacesso-remoto-e-efeitos-3d/ Please note that this workaround requires Vino 2.26.2 while the current version is .1 - the new version is supposedly coming out next week.
