Noob here so not sure how to do this right. Sorry if it's too long or
incomplete.

HP Pavillion laptop about a year old. It's running a fresh install of Gnome 
Ubuntu 9.04.
System > Administration >Calibrate Touch Screen. Yielded this:

"No evtouch capable device found, if you are sure you have 
an evtouch capable touchscreen, please mail the resulting file of the command 
"lshal > evtouch_hal.out" to the
bug url https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/317094, so support for your device can 
be added."

I ran the command. Dump follows.
