Having not heard back from the original bug reporter Guy Gur-Ari, I'm going to close this bug as it's growing wildly out of control and hard to follow from a developers point of view. There are comments all over the place indicating this is fixed with Jaunty, while others mention it's a regression with Jaunty, or some say this is an issue on some hardware and not others . . . I really do feel it would be more productive and helpful to the developers to open a new bug report if you are still experiencing an issue. That way the new bug will have specific information to the issue you are experiencing. I do understand that many users are still be experiencing the symptoms reported here and I appreciate everyone's feedback but I think the best way to try to get it resolved it to have a clear concise bug for a developer to look at. It is also difficult to determine if this is a bug in xorg for some or the kernel for others so please use your best judgement about which package to file your new bug against. Thanks in advance.
