Hah! Good luck. The alternative WAS the X Record extension, but that is
now also broken! The only remaining method is reading events from the
EvDev devices under /dev/input, but even this only works about 80% of
the time. I'm getting pretty cynical about the Xorg developers attitude
to accessible technology, ripping out features that existing
applications in the ecosystem rely on. How are we going to encourage
developers to build applications for Linux when we pull out the
foundations from under their code on a regular basis. Well?
