On the suggestion of Sarvatt in #ubuntu-x I installed the ~ubuntu-x-swat
PPA and upgraded the xserver-xorg-video-intel package to
2:2.13.901-2ubuntu2~xup~maverick . He thought this bug was most likely
bug 626967.

It *may* be that bug, but, after restarting and hooking up a second
monitor my video is messed up. Sorry I forgot to take a screenshot
before reverting the package and restarting (I'm at work).

Description of the problem:
The external monitor's right hand side is displaying a vertical piece the
laptop's left hand output, about 1.5 inches on a 22" 1680x1050 monitor. The
output on the laptop looks fine.

Additionally, where the mouse appears to be on screen and what I
actually click on does not line up. When my mouse appears to be clicking
on a button, I'm actually clicking about 1.5 inches to the left. Or, in
another way, to click on a button I need to put my mouse 1.5 inches to
the right of that button.

I'm still game for debugging/installing new packages, just let me know!
