This also affects me on 10.10 Maverick (up-to-date). 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV370 5B60 [Radeon X300 (PCIE)] 01:00.1 Display controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV370 [Radeon X300SE]
dmesg is full of "radeon 0000:01:00.0: XXXXXXXX reserve failed for wait" If I try to switch users, I get a black screen, sometimes with random artifacts on the screen. I can use Ctrl-Alt-FX to switch to VTs. I think I got back to a sane state by switching back to the original logged in user and logging out, then the login screen for the user I was trying to switch to was displayed and I was able to login. So, login/logout works fine, but only for a single user at a time. I can't have multiple users logged in at the same time. Disabling the fancy graphical interface elements does not help. Please let me know if I can provide any more information. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/656235 Title: radeon 0000:02:00.0: ffff880190de7c00 reserve failed for wait _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
