I have the same issue with a brand new HP dv6 3322. My laptop have an ATI card and an integrated Intel graphic. The issue seems related to the switchable cards that are not supported by the ATI driver. I do not want to come back to Win7, but if I do not reach to use the ati card with Ubuntu, it will be the only solution.
