Hmm, I'm having trouble picturing what you're describing - any chance you could take a photo of the screens when they're displaying the problem and attach it here?
Also, the logs you filed appear to be taken when the monitor was not connected. Can you connect it and reproduce the issue, and then run 'apport-collect 723002' to add log files from the broken case to this bug report? (It's hard debugging these issues without seeing the logs and error messages when it's broken).
