I still have crashes with the latest packages. Here is the output of the
dmesg commands:

dmesg | grep 'Linux version'
Linux version 2.6.38-7-generic (buildd@rothera) (gcc version 4.5.2
(Ubuntu/Linaro 4.5.2-6ubuntu4) ) #37-Ubuntu SMP Mon Mar 21 14:19:35 UTC 2011
(Ubuntu 2.6.38-7.37-generic 2.6.38)

dmesg | egrep "drm.*ERROR"
[ 8.494710] [drm:i915_report_and_clear_eir] *ERROR* EIR stuck: 0x00000010,
masking

Most of the time the machine will halt within minutes to an hour.
Happens often when I'm downloading updates.

If I can be of more help, please let me know.
