Apparently the -intel driver was not distinguishing 946gz as a 965-family chip and so was using 915-family functionality, which could cause failures during boot and so on. My guess is that this caused the lockup you saw, although symptoms are fairly different. Possibly the 2:2.14.0-4ubuntu6 driver will solve your bug. If not, it's been long enough since the original report and enough fixes and changes have gone in that we'd need it re-tested and re-reported anyway. So I'm going to mark this bug a dupe of that one; if you still find it failing please file a new bug report. ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 742425 GPU lockup (IPEHR: 0xf9b7b7b7) prior to gdm greeter * You can subscribe to bug 742425 by following this link: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/742425/+subscribe -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/718021 Title: [i946gz] GPU lockup f3077a7e (ESR: 0x00000001 IPEHR: 0x87000000) - WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-2.6.35/mm/page_alloc.c:1986 __alloc_pages_slowpath+0x36d/0x4b0() _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
