My experience has been very similar. I must note however that if you use the Ubuntu (no effects) login the silly blinking actions of the desktop and menus do not occur. You can at least see the desktop and menus properly. Some of the graphics in titlebar and progressbar window adornment display items do however display artifacts related to this driver. None of the graphic effects work. In FireFox, and LibreOffice graphics do not get rendered without artifacts when scrolled.
It is also true that compiz does not use the desktop settings for resolution and theme (as noted originally) from my previous setup regardless of theme settings or resolution selected. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/746934 Title: [i865] GPU lockup (ESR: 0x00000010 PGTBL_ER: 0x00000029 IPEHR: 0x01000000) _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
