This does look a lot like some bad interaction between i915/radeon(/vesafb?). Although we don't seem to have a full dmesg of a -7 kernel it seems like it's not vesafb-based.
It would be useful to have logs - both of good and bad boots - with the “drm.debug=0x0e” kernel argument added to the boot line. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/727620 Title: [Radeon HD 5650 and 5470] Driver crash during recovery boot and in normal boot (Regression from 2.6.38-3 to -4) _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
