Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

* I boot my notebook, log in automatically (into Ubuntu classic - no effects
session).
* Shortly after log-in (5 seconds or so) I close the lid of the notebook.
* In about next 10-15 seconds I open the lid.
* Touchpad cursor is frozen. I can not do anything just to reboot the machine
to get touchpad working.

I expect that this behaviour is reproducible also for longer delays between the
above mentioned steps.
Moreover, this bug is AGES OLD. I am suffering it for several years starting
ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex).
I have had reported it (or a similar bug) but is looks to be forgotten.
Therefore I report it also now for Ubuntu 11.04 beta2 i386.
I have not tested it within Unity. (The latter environment does not suite my
needs hence I stick with the classical GNOME.)

My machine is Fujitsu-Siemens AMILO Pro V3205.
It uses an Intel 945 GM chipset and a dual-core 32-bit processor.
