** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xorg

This happens to me after the latest batch of updates.

The desktop freezes completely, sometimes even the mouse cursor. As far
as I can tell, it happens only if the computer is left unattended for a
  while.

The freeze happens under following circumstances:
*) The laptop is left alone for a couple of minutes
*) The screensaver is not yet active (since I don't use one).
*) It does not matter which programs are running, I tried just logging in and
doing nothing, freeze still happens.
*) It seems to happen in conjunction with unity somehow, since I experienced
no crash using the classic desktop.

Logging in to another tty still works fine and if I restart gdm I can
log in just fine and work again until the next freeze occurs.

If something else is needed, I'll be glad to help.
