** Description changed: Binary package hint: xorg Originally I posted the problem for emacs23 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/emacs23/+bug/674488). But the problem is not restricted to this program. It also happens e.g. in OO and unison. Since the update to Maverick Meerkat I got very strange characters in emacs23 (see attachment). The characters are somehow shuffled into each other. This happens if I fast move through a line. If I leave the line or shortly switch to another window, all is fine again. For emacs23 the problem depends on font settings. If I disable anti-aliasing the problem disappears. In OpenOffice (oowriter) there is a strange behaviour: comments are agglomerated at the bottom while scrolling. The problem arises only in dual head mode. When I turn of the laptop screen and only use the external monitor, all is fine. I could not use ubuntu-bug ($ ubuntu-bug xorg) to report this problem. I got the error message: "Das Problem kann nicht gemeldet werden: Dies ist kein echtes Ubuntu-Paket"...
