This bug is pretty old and the -intel driver has gone through a *lot* of
architectural change since this was first filed. My bet is that the
original reporter's issue has long since been solved.
A number of people have me-too'd onto this bug report, however it's
difficult to tell if they actually do have the same bug since the
symptoms of gpu lockups are so similar. There was recently another
i915 issue we've fixed in natty-proposed, which some recent commenters
may be seeing, rather than the original reporter's issue.
What I'd like people to do is please re-test natty, with natty-proposed
enabled in your sources and fully updated. If you still see X freezes
then, please file a new bug report and we'll follow up from there.
