Hi, my workaround is to use the mainstream kernel
2.6.36-020636rc8-generic With this kernel the display resolutions are still not detected automatically but they can be set by xrandr xrandr --newmode "800x600"x60.3 40.00 800 840 968 1056 600 601 605 628 +hsync +vsync xrandr --newmode "1024x768"x60.0 65.00 1024 1048 1184 1344 768 771 777 806 -hsync -vsync xrandr --newmode "1280x720@60" 73.78 1280 1312 1592 1624 720 735 742 757 xrandr --newmode "1024x768_40.00" 40.25 1024 1056 1152 1280 768 771 775 789 -hsync +vsync xrandr --addmode "(null)1" 800x600x60.3 xrandr --addmode "(null)1" 1024x768x60.0 xrandr --addmode "(null)1" 1280x720@60 xrandr --addmode "(null)1" 1024x768_40.0 where the display has the stange name "(null)1" (???!!) But at least it works. So far I was not able to use the standard kernel coming with the distribution, the display resolutions are not detected and using xrandr just freezes the monitor (hard reboot necessary). I will be very happy if Natty solves the problem in a clean way. Unfortunately I have not the time at the moment to test the beta version... I will give feedback when I will be able to test the new distribution. Regards and please keep up with the excellent work!, Luca Formaggia On Thu, Apr 28, 2011 at 1:18 AM, bugbot <667...@bugs.launchpad.net> wrote: > Hey Luca-formaggia, > > > Thanks for your interest in Ubuntu. > > Thanks for testing maverick during its development period. > Unfortunately it looks like this bug report didn't get attention during > the maverick development period.
