Karmic alpha-3 is now ready for testing. We really need the logs from the newer versions to take this any further. You should be able to get this via a LiveCD if you install openssh-server and ssh in from another computer. Otherwise, you may try to install the LiveCD image to a USB stick (System -> Administration -> USB startup disk creator) and enable persistent storage (you probably need at least a 2 GB USB stick for this to work. This should leave the logs on the USB stick for next boot.
