Well, I've freshly installed Ubuntu 11.04 and the issue is gone. Once you've managed somehow to find the display settings (hint: it is hidden very well in the extreme upper right corner, behind the power switch symbol lives a menu) and set it to the right resolution, the login screen appears in the right resolution, too.
I have done so and also installed all updates and activated the FGLRX driver for my ATI graphics adapter. This has reset the screen resolution to maximum and it had to be set again. It worked out perfectly. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/222444 Title: Login screen has wrong resolution _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
