after the second time i boot into the patched kernel sometimes the brightness was on and others it didn't! if i move the mouse now the brightness doesn't go off! and i use the hotkeys to change the brightness! i did't test the hotkeys after a suspend because i never put my pc in suspend...i hope i helped you! if need any other information let me know...
