OMG! I just did a clean install of Ubuntu 11.4 to find out that my nVidia Quadro4 900 XGL did not have the option for proprietary drivers. I did however notice some 3D acceleration out of the box :) but after getting the cube going it was very glitchy :(. All i saw was a open source experimental driver which had worse performance then the native driver. Ugh.... I reinstalled 9.10 which worked great and did a upgrade to 10.10 which also worked great. :) Then I tried to do a upgrade to 11.4 hoping it would carry over the driver like 10.10 did, but i saw in the release notes that nVidia 96 driver was going to be removed...I tried it anyway out of desperation and sure enough, it was removed and back to square 1. :'(...I reinstalled 10.4 and upgraded to 10.10 again and I guess that's the best I can do....
Will there ever be a Nvidia 96 driver out for 11.4 or do I need to wait for 11.10? What if one does not come out then? Wonder how long ill be stuck with 10.10... :( -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-173 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/741930 Title: [natty] nvidia binary packages for older cards - dependencies not met _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
