I confirm that the problem is caused by the nvidia 270.41.06 drivers (and not primairly by konsole). I can reproduce it with kvirc and gimp by just resizing (or maximizing) them.
The symptom is a hangup of the entire system or "pixelated" corruption of the screen (see the attached screenshot).
