I'm using the latest 2.6.39 kernel from the kernel PPA, and I'm experiencing the same issue. I've also tried the drm-intel-next- proposed kernel and had the same problems. I'm using a Lenovo T510. Here's the lspci for the graphics controller:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Lenovo Device 215a Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 44 Memory at f2000000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4M] Memory at d0000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M] I/O ports at 1800 [size=8] Expansion ROM at <unassigned> [disabled] Capabilities: <access denied> Kernel driver in use: i915 Kernel modules: i915 The symptoms I'm seeing are slightly different. I don't always need to switch workspaces to trigger the problem. Sometimes I'll just be working and then some window (or the desktop wallpaper) will just bleed through into the foreground (see attached screenshot). ** Attachment added: "740985-Screenshot.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/740985/+attachment/2121858/+files/740985-Screenshot.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/740985 Title: [gm45] screen artifacts when switching desktops with metacity _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
