I just updated Ubuntu and logged back into the unity desktop (i've been using Unity 2D because of this bug) but now when logging back into Ubuntu desktop my Icons show up in he launcher which is great but now I have noticed that the Launcher wont dodge windows anymore and open windows hide underneath the launcher also the ALT F2 wont start the run dialog ether. Not sure but what fixed the icons not showing seem to have broken these things. everything works fine in Unity 2D so I'm sticking with that for now.
