I'm getting this error as well. I'm trying to run a game on DOSBOX and if I switch it to fullscreen the X hangs, leaving me the only option to force a reboot via tty (ctrl+alt+f1), because even a kill -9 on the dosbox process doesn't restore the screen. My machine is a netbook Aspire One D255 with intel GMA 3150 chipset.
