When changing keyboard layout from "Apple Laptop" to "MacBook/MacBook Pro", this error appeared: "Error activating XKB configuration ... X server version data: The X.org Foundation 10900000..." The error alert asks for "The result of xprop-root | grep XKB". The result is "xprop-root: command not found". (apt-get has never heard of xprop-root, either.) The error alert also asks for "The result of gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd". 11:29:15@~> gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd layouts = [us mac,us,af] options = [grp grp:alts_toggle,compose compose:ralt,Compose key compose:ralt, caps caps:backspace] model = macbook78 Similar bugs include bug 490009, bug 120420, bug 454160, bug 538474, bug 575780, bug 589518, bug 596652, and bug 120420. ** Affects: xkeyboard-config (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- "Error activating XKB configuration" when changing keyboard model https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/633914 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xkeyboard-config in Ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
