It became a lot better when I changed two things in ccsm: 1. Disable Extras / Window Previews 2. select "Force synchronization between GL and GLX" in Utility / Workarounds.
There still are screen redraw issues, but - for me - no longer in the window content, now the task bar is black, but that may be a compiz reconfigure bug.
