Hi everyone, I created a PPA for building a backport of nvidia drivers 275.09.07 from oneiric: https://launchpad.net/~staff-pro-unreal/+archive/nvidia-backport
It's currently building and I hope it succeeds. This should give you the ability to get rid of the trouble rmoving the ubuntu packages and install manually as described in the previous post.
