I cant try the latest development release of ubuntu since i dont have a place where i can backup my original files, but its exactly as Gabriel Grant said when I enable blur instead of the menus i get black blocks and they stay there after moving the mouse out, well gabriel said he made something from the virtual terminal, what i did its just reboot the system Type <Alt+F2> and then just wrote <metacity>, then go to the compiz options and disable the blur effect.
