>From the test result in comment #25, #26, this is the same bug as bug 555641 and is a hardware limit.
It is more obvious and easy to observe in Natty because Unity/Compiz is now the default. Also gnome-settings-daemon chooses the extended mode when the VGA cord is attached. Unless with a really low resolution external monitor, for most of the common LCD monitor available, it is really easy to exceed the resolution of 2048x2048. I am afraid there is not much we do to with this bug, at least for Natty. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Natty) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/790824 Title: [Asus EeePC 1001PXD/1011PX/1015PX/1215p] External monitor scrambles desktop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/790824/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
