Adding options "acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=legacy" in GRUB worked for
me on my friend's computer... mostly. Although the brightness buttons
can now control the backlight, Linux can't, and it still turns off once
in a while (though it's easy enough to turn back on)

I really hope this gets fixed soon, it's a pain, and makes Ubuntu look
pretty bad.
