In the meantime I found a much better way to avoid the screen
corruptions: Just use…

Option          "EXAPixmaps"            "off"

…in the 'Device'-section of your xorg.conf. Compared to Option
"RenderAccel" "off" the performance is just amazing.


@ Glen Colquhoun: Are you still affected by this bug? If so, could you test 
this? I'd really like to know if this works for you too, since your screen 
corruptions look quite differently & I'm beginning to doubt if we're really 
affected by the same bug.
