Public bug reported: The bundled OpenGL ES features are unusable when installing via the package manager. The current fix is to install without the package manager, however, this should not happen.
I created a bug ticket on the unofficial ati/fglrx driver bug report system, however, the package install still posses problems... ttp://ati.cchtml.com/show_bug.cgi?id=126 I also attached a sample program which is based on AMD's own OpenGL ES sample that was posted last year on their blog... http://blogs.amd.com/developer/2010/07/26/opengl-es-2-0-coming-to-a -desktop-near-you/ This test program loads the function "eglGetProcAddress" located in "libGL.so.1", and then proceeds to load the rest of the egl and gles function pointers via the function "eglGetProcAddress". This works when using the official installer, but not when you use generate system packages for use in the package manager. Also, as a small note, the attached sample needs the ninja folder from the amd's blog to finish the render test. The output should be an gles rendering of a ninja in a 800x480 window ** Affects: fglrx-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/829725 Title: OpenGL ES features broken with package install To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/829725/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
