*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 810221 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/810221
I updated my sons computer to oneiric from natty yesterday so that he could do some alpha testing and ran into the same problem (i.e. it was using nouveau after the upgrade, but was working fine with nvidia- current before the upgrade). His system has a GTX465 in it. I --reinstalled nvidia-current, but it didn't have any effect (still boots to unity2d and nouveau shows in lsmod). I also tried adding nouveau and lbm-nouveau to the blacklist.conf, but it had no effect either. As sworddragon mentioned, these were already blacklisted in the nvidia-graphics-drivers.conf. So, that workaround doesn't appear to be working for me. Maybe I need to try the reinstall again now that it's in the other blacklist (will try tonight)... Is the duplicate status of this report correct? I probably just don't know enough about plymouth and the boot process to understand why the right drivers don't load when the DM starts. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/810647 Title: [10de:08a0] nvidia isn't loading To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/810647/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
