hi people, can confirm this here in LinuxMint 11.
A few days ago, a new kernel arrived: 2.6.38-11. Since this kernel, the proprietary nvidia-driver has come back to work. But jockey-output still is a fals-output, since it reports, that this driver "is activated but not in use". But this is - as I just stated - a wrong output! This driver works. This can be checked through several ways: first way: open your Nvdia-settings and check the version there. second way: open your terminal and type in this: /usr/lib/nux/unity_support_test -p The Output of this should look something similar to the one here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/37084/nvidia-driver-activated-but- currently-not-in-use The third trick is this: again open your Terminal and type in this: sudo lshw -C display The Output of this again should also look something similar to the output shown on the link above. So you see, the driver works, but jockey still reports a wrong output. So it comes clearer now, that this is a wrong stating of jockey-gtk and that we are faced with a bug in jockey- gtk which needs to be fixed as it can lead to confusion.
