Public bug reported:

When playing videos using xvideo, such as in VLC or totem, there is
extra brightness. What should appear black appears grey. The difference
is easily visible on videos that do not fill up the whole screen, as
there are true black strips around the video. The extra brightness can
be rectified by using "xvattr -a XV_BRIGHTNESS -v -60", but I have to do
that everytime on startup (I have added it to startup applications as
"Fix AVIVO's brightness issue").
