A few notes: - The above logs are from when I booted with the 'recovery mode' option from the grub menu, so I don't know if the logs are even useful at all ..
- I created a live-usb (from the test-drive tool, so it should be the latest version) and booted it, it booted normally, though I did see some screen corruption during boot, but it wasn't "fatal"; that is, the booting process continued normally. I got an error box saying that something went wrong during installation, and that I'm going to be redirected to the "desktop". I don't know what installation it's talking about, but it takes me to the live-usb desktop after I hit "ok". Perhaps I can let the system boot normally and fail, and then boot from the live-usb so I can provide better logs. The only thing is, I don't know which log files are relevant .. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/859934 Title: screen corruption and system freeze during boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/859934/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
