You have been subscribed to a public bug: So I was writing an email in gmail (in Firefox), when I accidentally pressed maybe Ctrl + . (I'm unsure what exactly) and suddenly my screen went black, with some text on it, then came to the login screen.
Now at this point, using my mouse was fine, but when I tried to use my keyboard or the onscreen keyboard, any keystroke caused the screen to go black for a second, then return back to the login screen. I tried changing keyboards, but to no effect, so I restarted. I've taken a portion of /var/log/syslog http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12269404/syslog and /var/log/kern.log http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12269404/kern.log (they were the only two with relevant information).
