I debugged a little with synclient. Normally (as stated above) the touchpad area is from 1472 to 5744 for the x-axis and 1408 to 4792 on the y-axis. When this happen: 1) touching the right side i get x: 5800 (correct), istead on the left side 5600(incorrect). So it's like the x coordinate isn't read correctly on the left side of the touchpad. 2) Related to the first issue, doing the same thing in an area close to the bottom-right corner i get a value of x that range from 5000 to 5700. Thus the touchpad somehow works on the bottom right area. 3) However if i touch on the right area and move to the left area without removing the finger the x coordinate correctly range from 5800 to 1100!! 4) the other issue it's the wrong number of fingers. Again touching on the bottom-right corner i get one finger (correct), instead on the left side 2 I didn't find the reason that generated this bug, so i can't reproduce it. Looking at the xorg logs or dmesg i didn't notice any error message. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/876782 Title: Touchpad loose X axis and mostly detect 2 fingers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/876782/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
