BTW, my NVIDIA card is Geforce 8600 GT. Tried removing the proprietary driver to no avail.
Noticed that the live CD does not have an /etc/X11/xonf.conf file so I did: cd /etc/X11 mv xorg.conf xorg.conf.bak restarted and no difference. I have attached the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file that was working under 9.04. I am tempted to try restoring that but isn't 11.10 running a major new release of X? ** Attachment added: "xorg.conf" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-173/+bug/877051/+attachment/2556819/+files/xorg.conf -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-173 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/877051 Title: dual monitors not recognized To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-173/+bug/877051/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
