I am dealing with an issue (Bug #882893 ) that may be related. In general the PC (with Intel 82865G) is running OK, with Ubuntu 11.10 + Unity-2D, and latest updates.
Only problem: GPU (or CPU) crashes at 'screen OFF', on screensaver timeout.
