** Description changed: When building nvidia kernel module for older nvidia card support, dkms failes with: nvidia (96.43.10): Installing module. ..........(bad exit status: 10) Build failed. Installation skipped. Upon further investigation, running the following shows why dkms fails: > cd /usr/src/nvidia-96.43.10 > sudo make modules NVIDIA: calling KBUILD... . . (skipping most of irrelevant build output) . make[3]: *** No rule to make target `kernel/bounds.c', needed by `kernel/bounds.s'. Stop. make[2]: *** [prepare0] Error 2 NVIDIA: left KBUILD. nvidia.ko failed to build! make[1]: *** [module] Error 1 make: *** [module] Error 2 p.s. I tried using "ubuntu-bug -p linux" and was informed that: The problem cannot be reported: This is not a genuine Ubuntu package So I am filing it manually.
