Hybrid graphics isn't really supported on lucid. You probably should uninstall nvidia and just use Intel if tty access is important.
You could also attempt to turn off kernel modesetting, although I don't recall if that was still an option in lucid. I think the actual issue here is a kernel conflict between KMS and -nvidia with the TTY's on Lucid so am refiling. If anyone can reproduce on Precise, please file a new bug about it with 'ubuntu-bug xorg' and we can have another look (hybrid graphics is one of the focus areas for Precise). ** Summary changed: - [arrandale] no tty (freeze the system) + [arrandale] no tty (freeze the system) [Hybrid graphics] ** Package changed: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/571573 Title: [arrandale] no tty (freeze the system) [Hybrid graphics] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/571573/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
