Sorry Sebastian, I don't use Unity or Gnome. But I've analyzed what the mentioned system settings plugin did. It wrote a new file $HOME/.kde/env/qt-graphicssystem.sh with a single line "export QT_GRAPHICSSYSTEM=raster".
Maybe you can find an appropriate place to set that environment variable under Unity/Gnome. Oh, and I forgot to mention in my last comment that you can set the graphicssystem in the command line of an application with the option "-graphicssystem raster" (only ONE minus character), as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/586027 Title: xserver causes extreme cpu-load unexpected [Lucid] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/586027/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
