Public bug reported:

Upgraded the kernel of my Ubuntu 10.04LTS installation to linux-image-
generic-pae-lts-backport-oneiric

After restart, I had issues with the graphical interface ... the xserver
could not be started ... problems with loading nvidia driver

Uninstalled proprietary nvidia driver and reinstalled it again ...
resulting in this bug report
