Happend with my "old" intel core 2 duo and now with my new I7, usually when watching youtube videos. I use an ATI Radeon HD 6800 Series.
Dec 31 19:47:49 k1 kernel: [ 1704.199736] INFO: rcu_sched_state detected stall on CPU 1 (t=15001 jiffies) Dec 31 19:49:49 k1 kernel: [ 1823.857583] [fglrx] ASIC hang happened Screen shows blue / black stripes. This happend while compiling a kernel. There was no video films running, just a gnome3 (gnome-shell) desktop. I did not touch mouse or keyboard. Compile finished without any errors. I could still login via ssh and execute "reboot" which worked. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/881526 Title: System freezes, kernel crashes, "[fglrx] ASIC hang happened" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/fglrx/+bug/881526/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
