I'm not sure I really understand it as well as I thought. In Unity 2D, i get really bad video playback unless I can force the app to use the "Video Overlay" xv adapter.
And for example, in smplayer, I get blue window when it starts up, which I guess is from the "Video Overlay". When I switch back to Unity 3D, I get good performance and the blue background using "Video Overlay". But I also get good performance, and no blue background, (again in smplayer) using the default xv, or using "Textured Video". So I really have no idea why the performance is worse in Unity 2D. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/911992 Title: video apps using wrong xv overlay type in Unity 2D To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/911992/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
