Not sure which package is the real culprit. I tried also different
driver version (nvidia-173-updates, nvidia-96, nvidia-96-updates) with
the same buggy effect. If I click the green icon "additional drivers" I
have only options for 173 and 96. I dont have option "nvidia-current".
The real culprit may be package that detects available monitor screen
modes, but I have no idea which package it is.
