The screen corruption issue is a known regression in unity-greeter. Are you using the default screensaver (that just shows a blank screen and clock), or xscreensaver, or something else?
None of your logs show an error; could you reproduce the fault, attach gdb to the Xorg process, and collect a backtrace? That may indicate where X is stuck. See http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Backtracing for guidance. Sometimes these types of bugs are caused by compiz plugins. Can you reproduce this when using unity-2d? ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/943836 Title: Xorg freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/943836/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
